Raquel Leviss Weighs In on Why Scheana Is So Hurt by Sandoval on 'Vanderpump Rules'

Even before Season 11 of Vanderpump Rules premiered, Scheana Shay's anger toward Tom Sandoval had some fans confused. Yes, she had every right to be angry at him for cheating on her best friend with another close friend. But for some reason, during the better part of Season 11, Scheana's anger and hostility toward Sandoval began to take form in a way that seemed like she had been scorned by him.

And in case you're one of many fans still scratching their heads about it, we might now know why Scheana is so mad at Tom on Vanderpump Rules. Oddly enough, we have Rachel Leviss, the very person Tom had an affair with, to thank for the clarity regarding Scheana's anger toward him. In an April 2024 episode of her podcast, Rachel Goes Rogue, Rachel gave her input, and honestly, she makes a lot of sense.

Scheana says on Vanderpump Rules that she lost a good friend in Tom and she breaks down crying more than once in Season 11. She even feels compelled to get an apology from him, and at one point, she blames Tom for making her question her trust in husband Brock Davies and his friendship with fellow co-star Lala Kent. But Scheana's issue with Tom goes beyond what happened with Ariana and even how she feels about the way he changed the group dynamic.

But first, a little background refresher. Back in May 2023, during the multi-part Vanderpump Rules reunion, it was revealed that Rachel had filed a since-dismissed restraining order against Scheana. She claimed that Scheana punched her. During the reunion, Tom said, "She goes, 'I just punched that b---h in the face and tossed her phone,'" in regards to what he alleged Scheana said the night that Ariana found out about the affair.

Now, according to Rachel on her podcast, she believes this is why Scheana is so hurt by Tom and why she has such a hard time forgiving him in Season 11. It's not so much that he cheated on her friend, though that is part of the reason for Scheana's anger toward Tom. But, Rachel said on her podcast, it's because he betrayed Scheana at the reunion.

"I think that's really the reason why Scheana is so angry at Tom," Rachel said. "I think more so than the actual cheating, which kind of makes sense, because a lot of people are like, 'why is Scheana acting like she was the one cheated on by Tom?' It's because she feels betrayed that Tom, from her viewpoint, put her at risk for some legal action to take place."

Following the claims, Scheana vehemently denied punching Rachel. When she appeared on Watch What Happens Live in April 2023, she said, "There's a shove and there's a punch, and I did not punch her." Later, the restraining order was dismissed. However, in more ways than one, for Scheana, the damage was done.
