Kelly Matthews (@kellylmatthews) recorded herself as she sat in her car and smack-talked boomers, calling them the "worst generation" while highlighting how insufferable she thought this woman at the Cava location was behaving.

"Boomers are by far the worst generation," the fitness influencer states at the beginning of her video after warning that the tirade will deviate from the types of content she normally posts to her social media. "I feel like this has been well established. I'm the child of two boomers, bless my parents, but they have a lot of characteristics that I just really can't stand," she states in the clip.

"The reason that this rant came up is I just went to Cava for lunch which I love. If you guys don't know what it is it's like a fast-casual restaurant it's like Chipotle or Sweet Green where you walk through the line, there's a bunch of different ingredients and you can like build your own bowl or sandwich."

Kelly continued with her story, "And there's a boomer lady in front of me that seemingly had never been there before so she's trying to build a bowl and she is making the employees earn their minimum wage by explaining every single ingredient to her."

The TikToker went on to talk about the "boomer" customer's behavior in the Cava store: "Is it spicy? What does it taste like? Is it, what's this? What's this called? No, no, no, not that much. A little bit more...actually can you take that out I'll do this."

She continued, "Takes her 10 f---ing minutes to get through the line and they're all being very sweet and friendly to her. She gets to the end of the line, where there's a girl who's maybe 17 years old. Very sweet. Is ready to check her out and she, you know runs her credit card and she goes thank you so much ma'am would you like your receipt?"

At this point in the clip, Kelly sits silently, not giving a response to the employee after she question: "She ignores this girl. She doesn't even acknowledge that she exists. Does not say thank you, grabs her bowl, grabs her receipt, and walks off to sit down with her little friend."

"And the funniest part is that boomers call millennials the most entitled generation and it just could not be further from the truth being a millennial myself maybe I'm biased but I think millennials are the friendliest, kindest to service members I know this from waiting tables myself, I don't know it's just so ironic that people walk through the world like that and they are just so rude to people that are doing them a service."

She capped off her video by stating that seeing this type of behavior from the boomer customer "drives [her] f--king bonkers," before the video cuts out.

The comments section of Kelly's video was filled with folks who disagreed with her statements, one TikTok user accused her of being "ageist" and discriminatory.

"This is REPULSIVE. Ageism is just as repulsive as sexism or racism. How dare you stereotype like this? And everyone knows what Cava is. Duh," they wrote.

Another person disagreed with her assessment of entitled individuals. They wrote as a flight attendant the age groups/demographics they disliked dealing with the most were "Gen Z and millennials"

Someone else highlighted how a Gen X'er would react in this scenario, penning: "Gen X just over here watching it all happen."

There was another person who seemed to agree with her assessment of more elderly customers, however: "As an ex server I totally agree. My worst customers were the olds."

However, there were folks who were quick to remind Kelly that Father Time is coming for us all: "Keep in mind you’ll be there someday too, sweetheart," one person told her, which is a sentiment someone else echoed: "One day you are going to be old and young people will say similar things about you."

Someone else commented that they didn't appreciate being lumped together with the "boomers" Kelly maligned in her clip, writing: "I’m a boomer and I’m not like this at all. I appreciate the new generation. We both bring value to the future"

While another remarked: "I've got the feeling that maybe [you're] the problem"

What do you think? Does Kelly have a point and have you noticed that your interactions with "boomers" weren't as pleasant as they could've been or that whenever you had an interaction with a boomer customer you were left exasperated and annoyed?
