The biggest challenge in a relationship can sometimes actually be your relationship with your partner's friends and family. This is especially true if you're planning to get married. Who hasn't had their perfect day ruined by  a temperamental mother-in-law, or drunk uncle?

Newly engaged couple Brittney and Kody Frysinger decided to just lean into the dynamics of their extended social circle and make it into a big joke. Brittney had seen a photo she liked on Pinterest of a couple and a BFF third wheel, and decided it would be perfect to recreate with her fiancé and his special bro, Mitch Jolliff. Yahoo News reports that she asked photographer Lindsey Berger to take the engagement snapshot and the results were perfect:

Berger photoshopped the words "I don't," across the threesome's feet, illustrating Mitch's open resentment about losing his bestie to family life. But the day finally came for Brittney and Kody to tie the knot. Berger even managed to get a few photos of the couple being romantic together without anyone interfering:

Of course, in reality, everyone is friends and there's no hard feelings—though Kody does admit he and Mitch spend a lot of time together.

“We’ve been friends for seven years now, since we were in high school,” Kody told Yahoo. “Every single day, we’re in touch or with each other. Always together, always doing stuff together.”

Still, Mitch was reluctant to butt in on Brittney and Kody's shared day.

“At first, I was not a big fan of it,” Mitch said. “They actually had to persuade me quite a bit to take the pictures. I’m not a big picture taker.”

But he's so good at it:

Berger decided to recreate the fun of the throuple's engagement photo with a wedding shot of Brittney claiming her man while Mitch sulks, writing, "I won!" on Brittney's feet and "Shut up" on Mitch's. Rude thing to say to a bride, but emotions run high on wedding days.

Unexpectedly, Berger's photo went viral with shares from people nowhere near their small town in Ohio.

“I think it’s so relatable,” Brittney explained. “Everybody has that friend who third-wheels with you, who’s always there.”

Not that she's sorry Mitch is always there, not at all. Besides, he has a girlfriend. Maybe he'll be busy planning his own photo shoot soon?
