Catfish
Based on a documentary film of the same name, the reality docu-series Catfish is about the truth and lies of online dating. The term "catfish" refers to a person who creates fake social media profiles to pretend to be someone else.
Originally hosted by Nev Schulman and Max Joseph, the show follows them as they help an online dater uncover the truth about the person they are dating on the internet.
In 2018, filming of the show was suspended after sexual misconduct allegations surfaced against Nev. However, filming resumed after an investigation found the claims to not be credible.
Shortly after, Max left the show and was replaced by Kamie Crawford. There have been two spinoffs of the show: Catfish: Trolls, hosted by Charlamagne Tha God, and Ghosted: Love Gone Missing, hosted by former Bachelorette Rachel Lindsay and rapper Travis Mills.
In 2020, Catfish: The Podcast premiered on Wondery.
