This Grandpa Wrote Books To Surprise His Granddaughter For The Sweetest Reason

Twitter user renblankk, also known as Lauren, recently celebrated her birthday, and got a pretty incredible gift from her granddad. By the time we're young adults, most of us don't remember much about that happened when we were children.
But for Lauren, that's not a problem. It turns out that her granddad had recorded the events of each time they were together from the age of 2 to 5. His recordings took up three pretty beefy books.
Lauren shared photos of the books on Twitter, where they've been retweeted nearly 40,000 times in just a day. The first page, which was written on Feb. 16, 2003, is titled "Papa's Story," and says, "Hi Lauren; I'm just starting this so someday you might read it for fun. It's going to be a day to day record of you & me."
As you can probably imagine, Twitter found the entire thing pretty adorable.
In an interview with Buzzfeed, Lauren shared that her grandfather has always been there for her and "has been one of the most influential people in my life... The notebook is just filled with daily things that we did. We went to the zoo a lot, and flew kites, and throughout the notebooks he gave me advice."
She added, "He waited so long to give it to me because he just wanted me to understand and appreciate the moments that we had together when I was little."
Lauren said that when she received the gift, "I was completely in shock and couldn't even cry at first. Then I saw my whole family was crying and I realized this was a once-in-a-lifetime gift."
This is too sweet. I'm definitely going to have to steal this idea at some point.
