Little Girls Are Convinced They Are Twins Because They Share The Same Birthday

Jia Sarnicola and Zuri Copeland are a pair of 4-year-olds who are best friends. But they've taken their BFF-ness to all new heights.

Their friendship is so strong, the little girls are convinced that they're not only pals, but that they're twins. 

Their logic? Because they "have the same birthday and the same soul" they're convinced they're related.

Technically, Jia's birthday is on June 3rd and Zuri's is June 5th, but the two little girls shared a birthday party this year because they're pretty much attached at the hip and are born so close together, anyway.

Their mothers said that the girls don't see color and chalked that up to the fact that they live in a multicultural city, and that they've never brought up race or the topic of racial identity to their children.

"I think that’s one of the nice things about growing up in a multicultural, melting pot city. They don’t see color. We’ve never talked to them about it, period," Ashley Riggs Sarnicola, Jia's mom, said in an interview with ABC News.

Sarnicola also talked about a recent interaction Jia and Zuri had at a mutual friend's birthday party that opened her eyes about how special their friendship was.

"They were at a birthday party for a mutual friend, waiting in line to get their faces painted...She was telling a girl’s older sister they were twins, and the girl gave her an odd look and said, 'You’re not twins.' My little girl started bawling crying because she truly believes she and Zuri are twins."

That's when Jia dropped some knowledge on the doubting Debbie.

Zuri's mom, Valencia Copeland, says that the girls' friendship is so legendary that they have a wall board at their school dedicated to how much they love each other.

People on Twitter are obviously obsessed with the couple of besties.

Others pointed out cases of biological twins not being the same skin color either, further strengthening Jia and Zuri's argument.
