Everyone Is Doing the "Kylo Ren Challenge" Thanks to John Mayer

One of the stranger scenes in The Last Jedi was the now infamous shirtless Kylo Ren scene, where he's inexplicably wearing pants up to his nipples. While the people who worked on the movie have since explained why it was in there (basically, it was all about the force connection between Kylo Ren and Rey), no explanation could possibly keep the Internet from cracking jokes and making memes. Because, you know, that's what the Interner does.

John Mayer — who has somehow managed to have a concurrent career as a social media influencer and comedian in addition to his talents as a musician — has taken it a step further and issued what he is calling the #KyloRenChallenge. It is exactly what it sounds like, only it's somehow even better than you can even expect. Trust us.

Naturally, people took him up on this. Because if the ice bucket challenge, the mannequin challenge, the cinnamon challenge, the running man challenge, and the Charlie Charlie challenge taught us anything... It's that people can't resist being challenged. There's just something very human about having someone egging you on to do something and doing it.

Eventually animals and toys even got in on the fun, proving that you don't need to have Adam Driver's or John Mayer's body to get it on the spirit of the challenge. All you need is a really is an oversized pair of pants.

Users have gone back through other movies and TV shows and found that some other characters are retroactively doing the Kylo Ren Challenge.
